Professional Athlete Dougal Allan endorses Anchor Milk Otago Alps 2 Ocean Ultra

Having competed professionally in endurance events all over the planet I am now lucky enough to now call Oamaru home. It is an area with magnificent beauty and is simply an inspirational place to train and compete. Having just become aware of the new Alps 2 Ocean Ultra my mouth is watering. This is 300km of the most awe inspiring, ever-changing and utterly beautiful country an endurance athlete could ever expect to experience. I cannot wait to welcome endurance runners from around the world to this special place and share our unique outdoor paradise with you.

Hi Michael,

Hopefully everything is calming down a bit for you now, so I wanted to drop you a quick note and say cheers for the A2O. Outside of fatherhood and getting married, it's the best thing I've ever done. I had a feeling that it would be quite an intense week, but I had no idea how life changing it would be. I've come out the other side of it a new man. It was awesome.

I also wanted to thank the army of volunteers that you have looking after us all. It was an amazing thing to see the positive attitudes and camaraderie of them all. I'd only ever really driven through Oamaru on the way to somewhere else, but you and your team are a great advert for the town. I was all ready to sell up and move down there by the end of the week.

I'm definitely coming back, probably in 2021. I'd love to come back next year, but family time restraints probably mean an every second year adventure for me :-) If you need a volunteer for a couple of days next year then sign me up!

I don't think I can put into words how big the week was for me, so I'll just finish with thank you, thank you, thank you.

 Cheers

Di Talanoa- Tail End Charlie 2019

Hi Michael, Di Talanoa here, just want to say thank you for letting me be part of the volunteer team for your event. Such a privilege to be involved. Hope you're getting some recovery time now altho I bet you're flat out with follow up and already onto next year's event. Well done to you and your team - such a professionally run event yet done with real compassion and the human touch. Thanks heaps. Keen to help next year if I'm needed. Cheers.

Dear Michael,

I got home late last night and after I'd closed the door and put my bags down, I just sat at my desk, asking myself if I had just experienced what I had. It was as if I had been having and living an incredible dream for 2 weeks.

First I would just like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for one of the most amazing running events I have ever experienced - I've done quite a few races around the world and I can tell you that the A2O has got to be the best organized, most heart-filled event I have ever done. I just can't believe it was all over so quickly!
